The renovation of this 1990, 1550 square foot home combines the quintessential charm of a New England Cape with a modern and open concept floor plan. On the exterior of the home, we replaced the roof, repainted the trim and redesigned the foundation gardens.
The inside of the home was completely gutted. We removed 2 walls on the first floor which opened up and created a magnificent kitchen/dining area as well as a bright and sunny family room. The kitchen is complete with white shaker cabinets, farmhouse sink, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, recessed and pendant lighting, free floating wood flooring, and a custom designed island. A bench fabricated with wainscoting was added to the island to accommodate the stove, allow for more seating and transition into the dining area. The first floor bath was transformed to a full bath complete with a shower and free form shelving for excess linens.
The 3 bedrooms on the second floor, as well as the stairs and hallway are carpeted with a soft grey Berber carpet. The bathroom has a new white vanity, mirror, lighting and toilet. A HVAC split system was added to the house and to create even better air flow, a ceiling fan was added to each bedroom. Every receptacle and light switch in the house was replaced and the low voltage wiring was all updated.
A customized laundry room was added to the basement complete with a folding station, new lighting and new appliances.
Value Added: Based on opinion from realtors, this renovation doubled the value of the client’s home.
